Praise

This book is laugh-out-loud funny, but beneath the chaos and squirrel surveillance is something surprisingly sharp and tender. It nails the inner logic of a dog’s world so perfectly that the absurdity feels earned, not gimmicky, turning everyday moments into genuine comedy with heart.

The voice is confident, relentless, and weirdly wise, balancing pure silliness with real emotional weight about companionship and devotion.

I didn’t just enjoy it. I trusted it, which is the highest compliment I can give a book told by a dog

Barking Orders is a must read for dog lovers!

Let's be clear, Barking Orders is just a mindless fun read.

This book functions as a journal from typical dog, and each chapter is a different entry from the dogs point of view that is just so funny to read. Every single chapter of this book had me laughing out loud.

To give you a preview let me provide you my favorite quote, "I am justice in fur form." This quote and everything around it will certainly serve to entertain.

Barking Orders just made me happy.

I picked this up looking for something light and entertaining, and it delivered exactly that.

Barking Orders was a fun, easy read that felt like a perfect little break in the middle of the day (or a great “flight read” when you just want something enjoyable without having to think too hard). The short chapters made it really easy to pick up and put down, which I appreciated.

Roxy’s perspective is what really makes this book shine. If you’ve ever had a dog, especially one with a strong personality (I have two), you’ll recognize so many of these moments. The way she “manages” her humans, keeps a close eye on everything, and takes her responsibilities very seriously is both hilarious and oddly accurate.

I found myself smiling the whole way through. It’s not over-the-top or forced humor. It’s more of a dry, clever kind of funny that sneaks up on you.

If you’re a dog lover, you’ll likely see your own pet in these pages. And if you just need a quick, entertaining escape from your day, this is a great choice.

Overall, a light, enjoyable read that I’m glad I picked up.
